How to Draw a Ford Mustang

Every make and model of the Ford Mustang showcases the car's incredible strength and power. This line of cars is known for the amount or muscle under the hood and every design tries to showcase this aspect of the Mustang. The newest models also emphasize a slick racing design with added details like long stripes running the length of the car. things you'll need:

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Black ink pen
  • Kneaded eraser
  • Art markers

Draw the front of the vehicle with a rectangle in the bottom center of the page. Add a trapezoid on top of this shape that is wider at the bottom than the top. Split this shape into two equal halves by drawing a horizontal line across the middle of the shape. This will create the top of the hood of the car as well as the front windshield. Add tires by drawing small rectangles under the left and right corners of the car. Attach the side view mirrors to the illustration of the car by adding two rectangular shapes that are shorter along their outside edge and wider on the inside edge. Place these on the left and right sides of the windshield.

Draw the grills for the Ford Mustang. The Ford Mustang has two grill sections that are made of rectangular shapes, one at the top of the front of the car that is slightly shorter at the top than the bottom and the other just below the first. Make the second one wider at the top and shorter at the bottom. The second one should also be slightly smaller than the first.

Add the headlights with two circles inside of square shapes to upper left and right of the top grill on the Ford. Add another set of headlights with small thin rectangles that are placed below the first set of head lights. Add one more additional set of head lights with two very small circles placed below the rectangular head lights.

Add stripes to the hood and front of the car with two vertical and slightly diagonal bands that extend down along the hood of the car and across the grill. As these bands extend down they should be grouped closer and closer together and shrink in size slightly at the bottom. Draw the grill itself by creating small diagonal lines that cross each other inside the top and bottom parts of the Ford's grill.

Ink the entire illustration of the Ford Mustang. Let the ink dry and erase the pencil lines leaving behind only the ink. Color the Ford Mustang with art markers. Use light gray on the body of the car. Add shadows with dark gray around the bottom of the front of the car and on the left and right upper sides of the body. Also add shadows to the side view mirrors where they meet the body of the car. Color the stripes light blue and add dark blue around the left and right sides of the stripes. Use black for the tires, light yellow for the round head lights and orange for the rectangular headlights. Color the windshield as well as both grills dark gray.
