Ford Focus 2010 Instrument Cluster Guide - Service Engine Soon indicator

The icon of the Service Engine Soon indicator illustates a typical engine with the front fan and the oil cap. Please note that the Service Engine Soon indicator will be on every time when the vehicle is on contact but not cranked. This indicator will turn itself off after you have cranked the engine, but only if everything is ok with your engine. If the built-in monitoring system of your Ford Focus 2010 detects a problem, the Service Engine Soon indicator will remain on. You can see the most common light patterns indicating engine problems below.

  • The Service Engine Soon indicator blinks eight times after you have cranked the engine - This is an indication for an I/M testing error. You should visit your nearest Ford service and repair shop.

  • The Service Engine Soon indicator remains on (solid, no blinking) after you have started the engine - The on board diagnostics system of your Ford Focus 2010 has detected an error. You should have your vehicle serviced.

  • The Service Engine Soon indicator is continuously blinking - An Engine Misfire indication. Once again, you should visit your authorized dealer.
